He is known for many exclusive photos, including a widely published series of presidential candidate Bob Dole falling from a campaign stage and President George W. Bush penning a note requesting a bathroom break at the United Nations. Wilking’s intense coverage of Hurricane Katrina spurred additional relief efforts for the hard-hit region, with the Red Cross using his photos to solicit donations.
